Situated 1 hour from Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha town, Arusha National Park is the only northern park that allows walking safari and was established in 1960. It is the most accessible park with an area of 552 square kilometres.
Though it is one of the smaller parks of Tanzania, the natural spots like Ngurdoto Crater, Momella Lake, the highland montane forest and Mount Meru, the second highest peak of Tanzania, make it the most unique of Tanzania Destinations.
