Established in 1973, Mount Kilimanjaro National Park covers an area of 75, 575 ha, and is the most exciting and thrilling part of Tanzania Safari Tours. It also protects the ecosystem of the largest free the standing mountain which is called the ‘roof of Africa’.

Following a 2005 extension, this National Park now includes the whole of the mountain above the tree line as well as the natural forest (montane forest) which was under Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve. While visiting the Tanzania Destinations you can spot the most distinguished wildlife which are warthogs, hippos, impalas, dik-diks, zebras, elephants, buffalos, and giraffes as well as less common elands and gazelles. Cheetahs, lions and leopard, jackals, hyenas, monkeys, baboons, and mongooses are also found in Mount Kilimanjaro National Park.

If you are planning for trekking, you can spot black and white colobus monkey, blue monkeys, bushbabies, lions, buffalos while trekking. You can fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport and from there you can visit Mount Kilimanjaro National Park.

In this National Park, the main activity which is famous is trekking to Mount Kilimanjaro with an altitude of 5895 meters for which every year more than 30, 000 new and professional trekkers try to summit every year.
