The landscape of Mikumi is often compared to that of the Serengeti. The road that crosses the park divides it into two areas with partially distinct environments. The area north-west is characterized by the alluvial plain of the river basin Mkata. The vegetation of this area consists of savannah dotted with acacia, baobab, tamarinds, and some rare palm. In this area, at the furthest from the road, there are spectacular rock formations of the mountains Rubeho and Uluguru. The southeast part of the park is less rich in wildlife, and not very accessible.
After breakfast, you will drive to Morogoro for packed lunch boxes and drive back to Dar es Salaam. On arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be dropped at the airport for your outbound flight or dropped at your hotel or dropped at the airport for your home flight or extension to Zanzibar.

Last November I decided I wanted to celebrate my big 35th birthday with a safari in Tanzania and my dad onboard. I was looking for a father-daughter adventure of a lifetime and that's exactly what we got!
Our safari surpassed all expectations. It was planned to suit our needs, with good communication and service in the run up to the trip. The trip itself was superb in every way from beginning to end. ...
